Modding a car that garners a few compliments is easy to do. However, modding in a style that attracts the haters in masses requires a unique vision and solid execution. When Summer from Wahiawa, HI decided she wanted to mod a MKV chassis, she chose the Rabbit over the GTI. “I’ve always liked the style of the GTI but I wanted to get something not everyone had, so I got the Rabbit,” says Summer.

After getting fitted with a full body kit and a tastefully painted gloss black hood, her 2008 Rabbit was ready for some matching shoes. Not wanting to settle for just any wheel or a set of fake splits, Summer choose a set of 3-piece 19” Auto Art wheels that sport a polished lip and black faces. To complete the look, she lowered the car with Koni coilovers.

Aside from the killer looks, this little Rabbit has a few stop and go performance mods as well. In the “go” department you will find a cold air intake, an upgraded pulley kit, and a custom 2.5” Magnaflow exhaust system with quad tips fitted the rear valance of her Rabbit’s body kit. In the “stop” department, Summer added a Big Brake Kit with slotted/cross drilled rotors and stainless steel braided brake lines in the front and rear.

During the week, Summer works for the Department of Education. When she isn’t busy at work, she can be found spending time with her two beautiful children or with friends. Come Friday, Summer finds herself in a love-hate relationship, “I love to take my VW out on the weekends, but hate cleaning it.” This explains why it’s rare to see her Rabbit out on the road. But then again I don’t blame her for wanting to keep this bunny super clean.
